Best Concert Ukulele

Top 3 Best Concert Ukulele: Ultimate Comparison And Reviews

When you purchase the best concert ukulele, you must know that you are getting high-quality. This is because you will, most likely, be performing with it. You could be the greatest ukulele player in the world, but if you put a terrible instrument into your hands, it will not sound great.

I have decided to put together this list of the best concert ukuleles. I have tried out a few of them, and these are some of the best concert ukuleles you can purchase now. Whether you are a new player or somebody more experienced, I can guarantee that these instruments will be fantastic to play.

#1: Hola! Music HM-124EB – Deluxe Concert Ukulele

I love Hola! Instruments. If you read my reviews here, you will see that most of my lists contain products from Hola! Why? Because they are fabulous. This company knows how to produce a quality instrument at a low price point. The HM-124EB is no exception to this rule.

The second you pick up the HM-124EB, you will be in awe at how great it feels in your hands. It is solidly built. The rosewood fingerboard and bridge allow your fingers to glide over them easily. Couple this with the quality strings the Ukulele has, and you have a terrific playing experience. This is because each of these units comes equipped with Italian Aquila Nylgut strings.

All you should know for those who do not know what they are, they will not be replaced anytime soon.

I love Hola’s effort into making this ukulele the best it possibly can be. It boasts a 380mm concert scale and 24” concert length, which makes it perfect for performing. There are inlaid fret positions on the 5th, 7th, 10th, and 12th frets. These are marked on the fretboard as well as the top of the instrument. Not only does this look great, but it helps when you are playing.

The nut and saddle are bone. The tuners are geared. This means you will not have to worry about the instrument going out of tune at the most inopportune moments. Even after many hours of playing this instrument, I think it barely went out of tune. This says something about the quality of the instrument!

Does the sound work for you? Well, that is sublime too! You will blow people away if you are getting up there on stage and performing, providing some reasonable skills with a ukulele. They will be in awe at just how brilliant your sound is. This is one of my favorite concert ukuleles to play, and it will very quickly become one of your favorites too.

The only downside is that the upper frets are not that usable. If you play on higher notes, you may look for other frets. For the low-note stuff, then this is perfect.

#2: Kala MK-C Makala Concert Ukulele Bundle

I am not the greatest fan of bundles. This is because they never tend to be all that great. I was incredibly shocked when I stumbled across a concert ukulele bundle. This is because I thought everybody planning to play the instrument to a performance level probably had everything they needed to hand in already. It seemed like such a pointless thing to do. I decided to pick up the bundle from Kala, and I am glad I did.

Inside the kit, you have everything that you need for your instrument. This means a nice gig bag, a clip-on tuner, an instructional DVD, and a polishing cloth. The best part is that these accessories are actually of high quality. Unlike other kits, they have not just been thrown into the box as an incentive to purchase; they are worth being there.

Sure, you will probably wish to upgrade them eventually. They are not the most expensive pieces of kit on the market, but if you are a new player looking to get started, everything you need can be found here.

One of the main reasons why I veer away from kits is down to the fact that they, quite often, have the kit produced and try to ensure that everything in the kit is as cheap as possible. I have stumbled across quite a few shoddy kits which contain terrible ukuleles. That is not the case with this one. This ukulele plays well. It looks great too. The rosewood fingerboard feels excellent against my fingers. It makes playing the instrument fast and smooth.

There are geared tuners built into the instrument. This ensures you do not worry about the instrument losing its tune even after the most intensive playing sessions. The only major downside to the kit is that the strings are not great. However, I have yet to find an instrument with top-quality strings right out of the box. You will need to purchase an extra set when you pick up the instrument, but that should be fine, as they will be pretty cheap.

#3: Cordoba 15CM Concert Ukulele – Luna Mahogany Series Tattoo Concert Acoustic-Electric Ukulele

This offering from Cordoba is rounding off my list of the best concert ukuleles around Cordoba. It is the best that we have on this list so far too! This is an acoustic-electric ukulele, which is very rare at this price point. Electric Ukuleles tend to command top dollar. As a result, I was a bit suspicious of the quality that the Cordoba would offer.

When it arrived, I was surprised. It sounds excellent to me. It sounds beautiful, even if you are not planning to plug it into an amp. It packs a real punch, and the pure acoustic sound will be enough to brighten up any room.

Once you plug it into a solid amp, though, oh boy, that is when the ukulele starts to shine. The sound can cut through just about any sound mix. If you are getting up on stage and performing, and that likely is what you are doing when you are purchasing a concert guitar, then you will easily be able to entertain everybody. You are going to sound fabulous.

The build quality of this concert ukulele is excellent too. I am so used to cheaper instruments feeling like they are just going to break in my hands, so I was thrilled with this one. It is solidly built. I can imagine playing this one for years, and it will perform just as well then as it will do today! As with most instruments built for performance, you should know they will stay in tune.

Again, this is something you can be sure of with this ukulele. Even after hours and hours of playing the instrument, it barely went out of tune.

One of the absolute highlights is that the pack comes with a tuner, chord chart, and a gig bag. They are not the most significant pieces of kit in the world, but they are a good start. Of course, I would have been even happier if it came equipped with the cable needed to plug it into the amp, but sadly no. Good quality cables are expensive, so it is no surprise that you do not get one here.

The only primary concern about this ukulele is that its design may not be to everybody’s taste. This is because it boasts decorations inspired by Hawaiian body tattoos. I do wish they were not here because if they were not, this would be one of the best instruments on the market. That said, some people out there will love this style, so I can’t complain too much.

Best Concert Ukulele – Summary

If you are looking for good quality or the best concert ukulele, you will not go far wrong with any of the ones on this list. If you aim to perform big performances, you will almost certainly wish to go with the electro-acoustic to ensure you can be heard on stage. It costs a little bit more, but it is worth it.

If you plan to perform to fewer than a few people at a time, then either of the other two instruments will be fine. They also sound beautiful. It is, however, essential to get the best sound out of your instrument by investing in some quality strings! This even applies if you are purchasing the best concert ukulele!
